The St. Elijah Church Sunday School program focuses on our most important resource, our children. Under the guidance of Fr. Aleksandar and the Sunday School director Mrs. Cynthia Stojic, the program focuses on both the understanding and practicing of moral and spiritual values of our faith. Additionally, our children will learn to embrace the customs and traditions of the Serbian Orthodox culture. We would like to ask parents to bring their children to our Sunday school regularly and to give them opportunity to learn about Orthodox faith, our identity, customs, and culture. In Sunday school our children will learn basic truths about our Orthodox faith from their teachers. Together with parish priest, and church school director, teachers are working to coordinate the religious curriculum, field trips and special projects that support the enhancement of the Church. We are working closely with the parents in collaborative effort to create outstanding church education for our children. Those children who attended church school regularly had grown to be great leaders and wonderful examples not only in our Serbian Church but in their communities as well. Pot Luck Picnic & Registration September 25th First Day of Church School Year October 22nd Hay Ride & Pot Luck Picnic Fall evening picnic for children and parents, the toy is for our children in Serbia November 6th Bring a Friend to School Day Each child brings his/her friend to church school for an afternoon of learning and fun November 28th Children are Fasting Nativity fast season December 2nd Confession at 6pm December 3rd Divine Liturgy at 9am Communion followed by lunch December 4th - 18th Coat Drive Coats collected will be donated to local families December 23rd & 24th St. Elijah Overnight Retreat Details to be announced January 6th Badnje Vece Service starts at 6pm January 7th BOZIC January 22 St. Sava Celebration and Program Festive lunch followed by children's program consisting of poems, stories, singing, and dance that will start after the Divine Liturgy February 26th Children are Fasting Great Lent March 2nd Confession at 6pm March 3rd Divine Liturgy at 9am Communion followed by lunch April 4th PASCHA Divine Liturgy at 10am April 7th Lazarus Saturday Children procession at 5pm May 13th Mothers Day Church School Children have a fun filled afternoon for Moms followed by lunch. May 27th Last Day of Church School, Awards, and Picnic All parishioners are welcome. July 23rd - 27th St. Elijah VBS (10am to 5pm) Church's summer camp where children learn their faith thru lectures, crafts and singing; Afternoons are reserved for sports and field trips
